Claims Against the Government
"You can't sue City Hall!!!"....or so the old saying goes. However, in reality, claims against governmental entities are far more common than most people would think. In fact, claims and/or lawsuits against the city, state, or federal government are a routine part of the practice of any personal injury attorney in San Diego. These injury claims against the government can arise out of car accidents, slip and fall incidents, medical negligence, etc., just as any personal injury case against a private individual or company would.

Personal injury cases arising out of the negligence of the government itself pose unique issues requiring an experienced and knowledgeable personal injury attorney. Statute of limitations and/or claims filing deadlines are unique to injury cases against the government and require an attorney with familiarity of these issues. Further, government claims often require a more intense and time consuming effort to bring the case to closure. It should also be noted that California claims/lawsuit filing requirements differ from those of the federal government.

As with non-governmental entity injury claims, one who suffers injuries due to the negligence of another should consult with and experienced and knowledgeable personal injury lawyer to insure that their case is competently handled and that they have their chances of being fully compensated for their injuries optimized.
